Comet Healthcare is an allied health clinic dedicated to meeting the health and wellbeing needs of the Port Augusta community and surrounds. We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our clients to empower every individual young and old. We listen to your needs and work towards achieving your goals together in a safe, comfortable and friendly environment. Comet Healthcare takes the time to explore all your options and develop a treatment plan that goes beyond our current healthcare norms. 

We are committed to enabling access to quality allied health services for people in regional locations and offer expertise in a variety of areas. Check out our services page for more information.

We work with a variety of funding options with HICAPS available for on the spot claiming. We accept all Chronic Disease Management plans (Medicare), Return to Work SA, NDIS, Health Care packages and DVA. 

No referral is required.

Libby

Libby Harrison

Director / Physiotherapist

Libby was born and raised in Port Augusta undertaking her schooling at Caritas College. In 2012 Libby graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy from LaTrobe University in 2017.

Since graduating Libby has worked in both Australia and the United Kingdom developing her skills in paediatrics, sports and musculoskeletal outpatients. She has a keen interest in chronic pain management and improving function for those limited by pain or disability.

In 2016 Libby opened Westside Physiotherapy as a sole physiotherapy practice. Becoming acutely aware of the ever-increasing demand for allied health services in the region in January 2021 Libby started her journey to establishing Comet Healthcare as a multi-disciplinary allied health clinic. Libby is devoted to delivering quality allied health care to those in regional Australia.

Ramu Venkat

Physiotherapist

Ram started with Comet Healthcare in October 2022 and has been a sought after Physiotherapist at the clinic with over 13 years of Physio experience.  

He holds a masters degree in Orthopedic and Sports Physiotherapy from University of Otago, New Zealand and has been working locally in Port Augusta for over 10 years. 

Always up for a challenge with assessing and managing conditions Ram enjoys working on musculoskeletal conditions that range from muscle pains and strains to overuse injuries like tendinopathies. Also working on management of sports injuries in different disciplines and in individuals with different fitness levels and being involved in injury prevention strategies.

Ram believes strongly in educating people to identify factors leading to symptoms and empowering people within their own journey. He has previously been involved in programs aiming at injury reduction in sports and group exercise programs focusing on balance, strength and fall prevention

Nick Kinnear
Exercise Physiologist

 

Nick was born and raised in Port Augusta, completing year 12 at Caritas College in 2011. In 2012 Nick relocated to Adelaide, residing at Aquinas College in North Adelaide while studying Human Movement at UniSA. In 2015, at the completion of Human Movement, Nick applied for and was accepted into, a graduate diploma of clinical exercise science.

 

Nick has worked for multiple locations in Adelaide as as Exercise Physiologist, developing experience with a range of injuries and conditions. In 2021 Nick made the decision to return home to Port Augusta, to be closer to family and join a promising allied health team. Nick looks forward to catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones in 2022 and beyond.

Danielle Zubrinich

Practice Manager

Dani joined our team in February 2017 and since then has ensured that the clinic runs like a well-oiled machine. Dani has bought a wealth of experience to this role and over the past years has developed her health knowledge to answer all your questions. She has been instrumental in our transition to Comet Healthcare. An expert in organisation she can support you in the management of referrals, appointments and payment.
