Gym Rehab
Post sporting injury, surgery or a chronic pain suffering wanting to return to the gym. Comet Healthcare can provide gym rehab onsite in our large activity space or at one of the gyms around town.
Pilates
Our APPI trained Pilates instructors can offer individual or group-based Pilates. Pilates groups will be capped at 10 people to ensure we are able to provide individual feedback.
Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900’s. Since then developments have been made in the way we perform and teach Pilates. Much research surrounding its effectiveness has been undertaken, most specifically in relation to its association with low back pain. The most recent research indicates a positive correlation between Pilates based exercise and improvement in pain management and function for those suffering low back pain.
The movements performed throughout a Pilates program are designed to improve muscle strength and endurance, improve flexibly and lastly improve posture and balance. Given the diverse nature of the exercise program Pilates offers a great rest day exercise program or a way to get back into exercising safely and confidently.
