The World Health Organisation has declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic requiring a global coordinated effort.
This means each individual; business large and small and government agency must do their part in protecting our communities around the world to reduce the impact. Without control measures in place health systems can quickly become overwhelmed.
With extra precautions in place Westside Physiotherapy will continue to service our community while the risk remains low to our staff and patients. On arrival to your appointment our reception staff will ask you a series of questions to screen for potential risk. These screening questions will include:
- Have you travelled to or transited through a COVID-19 affected country in the last 14 days?
- Had contact with someone with COVID-19 or who is suspected of having COVID-19?
- Have any of these symptoms
- Cough
- Fever
- Shortness of breath
If you answer yes to question 1 or 2 we will ask you to reschedule your appointment and contact your local GP or health provider for best advice. If you have any of the symptoms listed in question 3 but have not travelled internationally or been in contact with any known cases we will discuss whether the consult will go ahead. We urge each client if they know of any risk relating to possible COVID-19 exposure to please phone Westside Physiotherapy to discuss rescheduling your appointment.
All visitors to Westside Physiotherapy will be asked on arrival to wash their hands using hand sanitiser that will be provided.
Westside Physiotherapy has a Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligation to do everything reasonably practical to ensure the health and safety of anyone who enters the workplace. Processes at Westside Physiotherapy have been implemented to increase the frequency of cleaning measures to reduce any health risk.
If you are unable to attend a physiotherapy consult but still wish to seek diagnosis, advice and education or exercise program a video consultation using skype or zoom can be arranged through contacting our friendly reception staff.
